From both ends : life

Any initial energy is always the centre. It generates worlds under itself, around and outside itself. It expands the tensions of its contraries and its  complementarities.

At the beginning, the cell. At the end , the cell. From the former to the latter molecules and atoms. On the one hand it splits, divides to multiply itself even better. On the other hand it declines, spreads into dust of nothingness. The near-nothingness of the beginning undergoes its big bang, conquers time and space. From unity, from the unique springs dispersion, diversity. At the end, when everything seems to be finished, still remains the track of the impetus. The pieces must be taken into consideration to explore the past and re-nurture the present.

Life is moving, it is the moving element. It requires expansion, the conquest of a territory, the affirmation of a path to follow, to generate. Movement generates movement. If the inside seems still, the effervescence is within it, and the appearance never unveils all its secrets.

The earth absorbs the energy, spreads it in its material. It fills its vacuum with it. The earth gives back its energy. It brings it to life again. Heaven produces and devours. And it is a field of antithetic forces that harmonizes without risking chaos. Everything comes to order. Everything becomes reciprocal, though keeping its unity undivided. So order is born from tension, from confrontation, from the acknowledgement by each part of the values of the other.

At the one end, life; at the other end death. Whatever the end taken into consideration. From the cell that breaks up, divides itself, multiplies itself, procreates, to the magma that disintegrates, breaks up, scatters, emigrates. Infinite life; limited life. Paradox of the living that turns out to be an undividable whole and fragmentary multiplicity, impetus and restraint, agglutination and dispersion.

So art. So the fractal ceramic affixed on a cemetery wall. Sophie Ronse lets it take its verdigris colours, oxidation that eats away substance, example of the fragility of materials, active presence of what accelerates annihilation. She gave it the aspect of deriving continents, expanding galaxies but also infiltrating viruses, propagating metastases, spreading spores. She expresses both the origin and the end, the short term and the eternal, the protecting shell and what is hidden underneath, the soul and the skin, the shapeless and the moulded, the real and the track of it, the splitting  and the reassembling. Visually, she embodies the dialectic synthesis of existence.
